Description: This small, globular ceramic vessel has a rounded bottom. The neck flares to an added rim that has two small flange handles and incised lines on the top of the lip. The item is decorated with a continuous incised guilloche pattern around the neck and parallel lines around the shoulder. There is a cordmarked pattern all over the body. The cordmarking has been partially obscured by the incised lines on the neck and shoulder. The grit-tempered vessel is very dark brown to brown in color. Pot is complete, but has been repaired. The item was excavated from Gartner Mound in Green Township, Ross County, Ohio. View on Ohio Memory.
