Madisonville Village Site Collection
Description: Small Madisonville cordmarked ceramic vessel has a rounded globular body, round base and a flaring rim. Rim has small shallow notches on top and four added strap handles that extend from the rim to the shoulder. Cordmarking extends from the body onto the bottom of the strap handles. The cordmarks overlap at the base. The pot is nearly complete except for a few breaks at the rim. It is black, dark grayish brown, very pale brown and reddish yellow in color. Item was excavated at the Madisonville Site in Hamilton County, Ohio. View on Ohio Memory.
