Point, projectile   Save

Description: Gray flint fluted point has roughly parallel sides that narrow slightly to a point. The base curves inward. The fluting on both sides of the base is shallow and is shorter on one side than the other. There are parallel flake scars that run horizontally across the point. Near the base the edges have been ground smooth. The tip of the point is broken. On one side near the flute there is an area where the weathered outer layer of the flint core from which the point was made (cortex) is still present. View on Ohio Memory.
