Description: William Nichols of Hardin County. Electrocuted December 9, 1904, for the Murder of Alpheus "Alf" Minard. Alf Minard was a civil war veteran who suffered from mental illness after the war. Due to his violent behavior, he was alienated from his family in his later life when he became friends with William Nichols. In 1903, after supposedly getting into a fight after a game of cards, Nichols stabbed and shot Minard. Nichols was put death by electric chair in December, 1904. View on Ohio Memory.
