: Five photographs document Nelson Ledges, a group of sandstone rock formations in Portage County. A sixth photograph shows the lodge built for visitors. Nelson Ledges is one of the few areas of northeastern Ohio where sandstone cliffs were not covered by receding glaciers. Nelson Ledges was purchased by the state of Ohio in 1940 and became part of Nelson-Kennedy Ledges State Park in 1949. The photographs measure 8" x 10" (20.32 x 25.4 cm). View on Ohio Memory.
