The caption reads, “Entered, according to Act of Congress in the year 1865, by J. A. Arthur, in the Clerk’s Office of the District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Washington & Lincoln (Apotheosis) B. J. Ferris, Del. Photo. and Pub. by Phil. Pho. Co., 730 Chestnut St.” This print was produced as a commemorative work after Lincoln's assassination.
