He wrote for the Cincinnati Post-Times Star and the Cincinnati Post for over forty six years and loved to play the card game Bridge. His home, completed in 1865 in the Greek Revival style, is located at 2563 Hackberry Street in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
