Description: This is a picture of the Corwin Estate, located in Lebanon, Ohio. The house belonged to former Ohio Governor Thomas Corwin, who lived here from 1839 until his death in 1865. Corwin held many political positions including member of the Ohio House of Representatives and the United States House of Representatives, U.S. Senator, 15th Governor of Ohio, 20th Secretary of the Treasury, and U.S. Ambassador to Mexico. Corwin earned the nickname "The Wagon Boy" after he served as a wagon boy in General William Henry Harrison's army during the War of 1812, and he is also considered to be one of the most effective political orators of his time.
