Description: Small Madisonville cordmarked ceramic vessel has a rounded globular body, round base and a flaring rim. Rim has small shallow notches on top and four added strap handles that extend from the rim to the shoulder. Cordmarking extends from the body onto the bottom of the strap handles. The cordmarks overlap at the base. The pot is nearly complete except for a few breaks at the rim. It is black, dark grayish brown, very pale brown and reddish yellow in color. Description: Bone pin is a carved and highly polished deer cannon (leg) bone. The distal end is flattened like a spatula with a leaf-shaped point. The proximal end is the articular end of the bone, only slightly modified. There is a small band of incised Xs between two parallel lines. The bone is pale yellow and dark grayish brown in color. Description: This is a portrait of Warren K. Moorehead sitting in chair. Warren K Moorehead was born of missionary parents in Siena, Italy on March 10, 1866. His mother died early in his life. His father remarried and moved the family to Xenia, Ohio where he was the head of a Presbyterian seminary. Moorehead became interested in archaeology as a boy, He excavated sited in Licking County and the Muskingum Valley. In 1894, he became the first curator of the Ohio Historical Society. He died on January 5, 1939 and was buried near his family in Xenia, Ohio View on Ohio Memory.

Description: Large, smooth, rounded stone artifact is roughly triangular in shape. On one side there are incised lines in a crosshatch pattern. On the other side there are incised lines that depict a serpent-like creature with large teeth, a fish-like tail and exaggerated spines decorated with crosshatching. A zigzag line is drawn from the eye to the heart. The artifact is made from black Ohio shale. It has been broken into three pieces and glued together. Description: Dark gray circular stone discoidal has deep concave sides sloping to the center hole, which has a diameter of 14.47 mm. The rim is smooth and curves slightly toward the concave sides. The concave surfaces show peck marks (small indentations created by hammering), while the outer edge is ground smooth. The stone was used in a game played with spears.
