Description: Caption reads: "Church at Kinsman." The church depicted in the photo is currently known as the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, located in Kinsman, Ohio in Trumbull County. Organized in 1803 by Rev. Mr. Tate and Rev. In 1831, Kinsman formed a separate church which came to be called the First United Congregational and Presbyterian Church. Plans were laid for a new building in 1831 through 1832, at a cost approaching four thousand dollars, with one fourth of the expenses paid by Mrs. Rebecca Kinsman. Worship services were first held in the new building in August 1833. Living room of the Carlton Wall house  Save
Description: A photograph taken by Joe Munroe of the living room of the Carlton Wall house, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The house is one of Wright's Usonian-style homes, built with the goal of using natural light and bringing the outside in--this effect is clearly demonstrated with the large windows and plants. Joe Munroe's career began in 1939 at the Cranbrook Academy of Art. He served in the Air Force during World War II and then joined Cincinnati-based Farm Quarterly magazine. Though raised in Detroit, agriculture became an important subject of Joe's photographs. He moved to California in 1955 and free-lanced, taking magazine assignments and selling his own work. South High Street, Columbus, photograph  Save
Description: This photograph shows a view of South High Street Columbus, Ohio, looking north. A streetcar and autos share the road; parked cars line both sides of the street. The sidewalks are crowded with pedestrians. The top of the LeVeque Tower is seen in the far background. Columbus's famed Neil House hotel is situated in the middle of the block. The hotel was erected in the 1820s as a tavern. Proprietor William built a hotel on the site in 1839; this structure burned down on Nov. 6, 1860 and was replaced in 1862 by new building. In turn, that hotel was replaced in 1924 by the structure seen in the photo. This 600-room hotel was torn down in the 1980s to make room for the expanded Huntington Bank Building.
