Harding was the 1920 Republican candidate for president. He would go on to win the election and become the 29th President of the United States, serving from 1921 until his death by heart attack in 1923. He was born near Marion, Ohio, in 1865. Before being a U.S. Senator and President, Harding served in the Ohio state Senate and as Lieutenant Governor. View on Ohio Memory.
