Description: Ceramic body sherd from a pot that is covered with squarish impressions created by pressing a wooden stamp into the clay. This process is called Turner check stamping. The ceramic is reddish yellow in color. Item was excavated from Harness Mound in Ross County, Ohio. View on Ohio Memory.
