John Seip Collection
Description: Small round object, the size of a marble, is made of steatite that is black and brownish black in color. It has an incised design with one set of two concentric circles. Extending from the outer circle are two lines with parallel broken lines between them. These lines extend to an egg shape with a circle incised inside. On either side of the lines that extend between the circles are spiral shapes (one per side). A line extending from the spiral shapes runs parallel to the egg shape and connects at the egg's narrow end. Item was excavated from Seip Mound in Paxton Township, Ross County, Ohio.
