Description: Atlatl weight, also called a humped gorget, is made of slate and oval-shaped. It is flat on the bottom and the upper surface has a conical projection at the center. There are two holes on either side of the center on the long axis measuring 5.3 mm and 4.9 mm in diameter. The slate is dark gray with very dark gray banding. There is a soil deposit over much of the surface that ranges in color from pinkish gray to brown. The gorget was likely used as an atlatl (spear thrower) weight.
