: Dated 1896, this is 'The Youth's Companion Announcement for 1897,' which as stated at the beginning of the booklet is "An announcement of writers who will contribute to the Youth's Companion during the year 1897, together with some description of their articles and stories." The Youth's Companion was published from 1827 through 1929, though it later years it was known as The Companion. It merged with The American Boy in 1929.
