Ohio Governors' State of the State Addresses
Description: This eight page booklet contains the text of Governor Jeremiah Morrow's message to the General Assembly of Ohio on Dec. 7, 1825. Morrow (1771-1852) was a Democratic-Republican politician who served as the ninth governor of Ohio, from 1822 to 1826. During his term, Ohio's economic state improved and developed. This was largely due to the federal land act of 1820 and the stimulation of commerce from internal improvements like roads and canals. Morrow was also Ohio's first member in the U. S. House of Representatives, and served in the U. S. Senate for one term. View on Ohio Memory.
