"From Siberia Into America" broadside   Save
Ohio History Connection Archives/Library
Description: This broadside attempts to persuade workingmen and women to vote for James Cox for president in the 1920 election. It describes the favorable atmosphere for labor created by Cox when he was governor of Ohio, including specific legislation passed during his tenure. A comparison is also drawn between Ohio under Cox and the adjacent state of Pennsylvania, under a Republican governor. Implicitly, the Women's Bureau of the Democratic National Committee, by creating and signing the broadside, is also attempting to persuade women not to vote for Warren G. Harding, the head of the party that supported suffrage. View on Ohio Memory.
