Description: These photographs show several pieces of dishware in the Westwind pattern that was made by Lenox China in the United States and dates from about 1957. The ceramic plate has an allover cream-colored glaze and gold rim. To the viewer's left of center are brown branches with green, brown, yellow, and pink leaves. On the underside is a gold-colored makers mark with an "L" between branches above the text, "WESTWIND / c BY LENOX / X-407 / MADE IN U.S.A." Included are a round dinner plate, seven round dessert plates, a round serving bowl, an oval serving bowl and an oval platter. John Glenn purchased this set of dishes for Annie with the prize money he won on the October 4, 1957 episode of "Name that Tune." John and Annie used the dishes in their home until John's death in 2016. Lyn and David Glenn, children of John and Annie Glenn, donated several items belonging to their parents in 2018. Many of the objects are from their household or are related to John Glenn's career as an astronaut and U.S. Senator. View on Ohio Memory.
