Description: Mary Clay of Chillicothe, Ohio submitted this claim to the Pike County Probate Court in 1872, asking for reparations of $130 for a horse used by the militia in Pike County to repel Morgan's Raiders. During the Civil War, Confederate General John Hunt Morgan led his cavalry troops on a 1,100-mile raid into Union territory. Morgan started in McMinnville, Tennessee on June 6, 1863 and was captured near West Point, Columbiana County, Ohio on July 26, 1863.
