'Act to Establish the County of Tuscarawas'   Save

Description: This act was signed on February 13, 1808, and formed Tuscarawas County from territory that was originally a part of the larger Muskingum County. Tuscarawas became Ohio's 27th county. The act defines Tuscarawas County's northern border as intersecting with "...the late Indian boundary line..." referring to Fort Laurens, which now lies near the border of Tuscarawas and Stark counties.
