Description: This is a photo showing the final assembly aisle of the refrigeration department at the Westinghouse Electric Company in Mansfield, Ohio. The Westinghouse Electric Company was founded in 1886 by George Westinghouse, who was a pioneer in the electrical industry. This plant, producing electrical supplies and appliances, was opened in 1918 and employed about 3000 workers during the 1930s. The building consists of two daylight structures connected by a covered passageway. Today, the company is part of the CBS Corporation. View on Ohio Memory.
