Description: This projectile point is of the Lamoka type. It has a leaf-shaped blade that tapers to a long, rectangular stem. The base is straight and the edges are ground smooth. The point is made of gray Flint Ridge flint and comes from the Late Archaic Period. People of the Late Archaic were hunter-gatherers, and were among the first in the region to make metal artifacts from copper found near Lake Superior. Lamoka points are found throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, and portions of Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia, and the eastern states. View on Ohio Memory.
