: This hand-sewn textile(wool) has a halyard rope. It is an American Red Cross flag which was flown on July 1, 1898 at the Battle of San Juan Hill during the Spanish-American War. The flag is rectangular, 108 cm by 180cm. Dr. F Dewey Amner of Kent, Ohio donated this flag to the Ohio Historical Society (now the Ohio History Connection) in 1952.
