Description: This two piece hand-painted cotton banner commemorates the Civil War battles fought by soldiers of the Union Army, possibly a particular unit. Titled "Foot prints of our Armies," it lists 28 battles, sieges and campaigns. Banner 1 (H 65549.001) reads "Chicamauga, Look Out Mountain, Mission Ridge, Knoxville, Resaca, Kenesaw Mountain, Atlanta, Franklin, Nashville, McAlister, Savannah, Charleston, Fort Fisher, Wilmington, Fayettecille, Goldboro and Pilot Knob." Banner 2 (H 65549.002) reads "The Wilderness, Spottsylvania, Cold Harbor, Petersburg, Cedar Creek, Fisher's Hill, Opequan, Five Forks, Richmond, Amelia C.H. [Courthouse] and Appomattox C.H.
