: To produce coke for the steel-making process, coal is subjected to a baking process which eliminates undesired byproducts. At the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company's Campbell works, coal was stored in a coal tower. This tower was photographed at the west end of the plant, ca. 1920. View on Ohio Memory.
