Abraham Lincoln was born in Kentucky on February 12, 1809. He became President of the United States in March of 1860. Shortly after being reelected for a second presidential term, Lincoln was shot at Ford Theater in Washington, D.C., on April 14, 1865, by John Wilkes Booth. Lincoln died the following day and was buried in Springfield, Illinois, after a lengthy funeral procession from Washington D.C. View on Ohio Memory.
