Description: This plaque commemorates the first fort built by European settlers in Ohio, Fort Sandoski, built by British traders in 1746. It was rebuilt twice, in 1750 and 1761, before being destroyed at the outbreak of Pontiac's Conspiracy, also known as Pontiac's War or Pontiac's Rebellion, on May 18, 1763. View on Ohio Memory.
