Description: Carte de visite photograph of Lieutenant Colonel John A. Chase, a commander of the 182nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry, photographed in Nashville, Tennessee, ca. 1864-1865. The 182nd O.V.I. was mustered into service at Camp Chase on August 4, 1864, and served post and garrison duty in Nashville until being mustered out in July 1865. Their only major engagement was the Battle of Nashville in mid-December of 1864. View on Ohio Memory.
