Description: Broadside listing volunteers in Company D of the 53rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry, as well as memoranda of military actions and illustrations of patriotic scenes, as of May 19, 1863. Individual privates are listed in alphabetical order, as well as regimental and company officers. According to the broadside, the company was primarily recruited from Jackson, Ohio, and mustered into service on November 17, 1861, at Camp Diamond in Jackson. Their engagements included the Battle of Shiloh, Siege of Corinth, Holly Springs, and Grant's expedition into Mississippi. View on Ohio Memory.
