Description: Dated ca. 1876, this quilted, cotton comforter has red, white and blue American flags on one side. The flags are arranged in nine columns arranged in groups of three with two columns of large-size 39-star flags followed by a column of small flags with thirteen stars. The large-size flags are placed with the blue cantons together. The back of the comforter has a printed fabric with eagles and a portrait of Revolutionary War hero Lafayette. The comforter is tied with yarn. There is a blue binding. View on Ohio Memory.
