Description: Carte de visite of Pvt. James L. Athey, who served in Company B of the 77th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Company B was recruited from Noble and Washington Counties, Ohio. Athey was originally from Fearing Township, Washington County, Ohio. He was recruited for a 3-year term on February 1st, 1864, at age 18. He was captured at Mark's Mills, Arkansas, on April 25th 1864. Athey was mustered out on March 8th, 1866. View on Ohio Memory.
