Description: Carte de visite of General George Crook, who served with the Union Army during the Civil War. Beginning the war commanding the 36th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and rising to general, he fought at South Mountain, Antietam, Chickamauga, Cedar Creek, Five Forks, and Appomattox Courthouse. Regarded as an excellent commander, he also served extensively in the West, fighting against the Snake and Sioux Indians View on Ohio Memory.
