: This flag was designed in 1901 for the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York. It flew over the expositions Ohio Building and was designed by the buildings architect, John Eisenmann of Cleveland. In 1902, a bill was enacted and by May 9, 1902 the design was signed into law as the state flag of Ohio. The flag is held in the Ohio Historical Society History Collection. View on Ohio Memory.
