The caption above the photograph reads "Stoddard Manufacturing Co." The Stoddard Manufacturing Company was founded by John Williams Stoddard and made agricultural implements. In 1904, the company reorganized and became the Dayton Motor Car Company and made the Stoddard-Dayton automobile. In 1910, the car company was sold to United States Motor Company.
