Description: U.S. Marine Corporal Michael Petrucci with an unidentified fellow Marine returning home after service in Korea, July 1954. Petrucci was born August 9, 1930, in Youngstown, Ohio, where he grew up and attended school. Petrucci enlisted in the Marine Corps in July of 1952, and began basic training at Cherry Point Marine Base in North Carolina in August 1953. He received orders for overseas duty in May 1953, but when the United States and North Korea ended hostilities in July 1953, his transfer to Korea was halted. Petrucci was eventually sent to Korea in September 1953 and stationed at the First Marine Aircraft Wing base in the town of Pohang Dong, where he served until July 1954. By September 1954, Petrucci had returned to civilian life in Youngstown, Ohio. View on Ohio Memory.

Description: Reverse reads, "Seagrave corp." An unidentified man works on a coulter machine at the Seagrave corporation in Columbus, Ohio. The coulter is a type of metalworking machine tool that was created by the Automatic Machine Co. based in Bridgeport, Conn. It is used for planing new brasses and planing slide valves for reseating. Seagrave Corporation eventually became Seagrave Fire Apparatus, and is now the oldest' continuous manufacturer of fire apparatus in North America. The company was founded in 1881 in Detroit, Michigan, by Frederic Seagrave, and moved to Columbus, Ohio, in 1891. In 1963, it moved to Clintonville, Wisconsin where it is still located today. He was assassinated in the first year of his second presidential term while on a cross-country tour. Description: This banner is comprised of rectangular panels of blue, yellow and white cotton stitched together. The banner is stamped "2 1/2 x 4" and has brass grommets and white cotton twill on one side. The banner was displayed on showboats and dates from around 1930. The dimensions are 120 cm by 70 cm. The banner was probably flown on the Eisenbarth showboats. Mrs. E. E. Eisenbarth of Marietta, Ohio, donated this banner to the Ohio Historical Society in 1986. View on Ohio Memory.

Description: The Hayes Memorial Library and Museum was dedicated on Memorial Day, May 30, 1916 in the Spiegel Grove State Park, Fremont, Ohio. The four-page program lists the morning and afternoon programs. At 8:00 am the building was "thrown open...for the exclusive use of the school children and teachers of the Public Schools and of St. Ann's and St. Joseph's Parochial Schools, on the way to the cemeteries to decorate the graves of Soldiers." Governor Frank B. Willis made a presentation, as did George Kinney, mayor of Fremont, and United States Senator Warren G. Harding. The front cover includes an image of the Hayes Memorial Library and Museum and the back depicts Spiegel Grove. The program measures 5" by 7" (12.7 by 17.8 cm). The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center contains the residence of Rutherford B. Hayes, 19th president of the United States, a library and museum, and the tomb of the president and his wife Lucy Webb Hayes. The library and museum building houses the personal papers and mementos of the Hayes family, the Civil War, and the White House. The tomb is encased in a monument of Vermont granite from the president's father's farm. View on Ohio Memory.
