Description: Eighteen photographs document the construction of the Ohio State Museum, home of the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society (later the Ohio Historical Society, and now the Ohio History Connection) in 1912. The first photograph shows the cornerstone-laying ceremony in 1912. Standing prominently at the High Street entrance to the Ohio State University, the Museum and Library of the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society was completed in December 1913 and dedicated five months later on Memorial Day. Graced with Ionic columns, Tiffany bronze doors, and marble stairways, the two-story building of limestone block was the first wing of what would become a much larger structure. In 1970, the Ohio Historical Society moved into the Ohio History Center, located near the Ohio Exposition Center and State Fairgrounds at the intersection of I-71 and 17th Avenue. Description: This is the cornerstone of the Clinton County Courthouse. It was built from 1916-1919 by architects Weber, Werner and Adkins, and is similar in appearance to the U.S. Capitol building prior to the Civil War. Description: Situated along the National Road in Zanesville, the Y-bridge was first constructed in 1814 and was made of wooden trestles and stone, with a toll house in the center. It is the only three-way bridge in the United States. Five different constructions of the Y-bridge have crossed the Licking and Muskingum rivers over the years, with the most recent built in 1984.
