Description: This United States flag was the flag of the 14th Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. The wool flag dates from 1861-1865. The stars have disintegrated due to exposure to air and light. The dimensions are 150 cm by 270 cm. Demming L. Hannaford of Minneapolis, Minnesota, donated this flag in 1937. The donor's great grandfather, John J. Demming, was a member of the 14th O.V.I. Demming carried the flag during the Civil War and retained possession of it after being mustered out.
