Fort Hill, vista from top of earthworks photograph   Save
New Deal
Description: The vista of a cleared trail on top of earthworks. Obstructions to passage and views in some places were removed. The clearing for views came under two heads, one so that visitors could better appreciate the extent of the man-made earthworks and the other to provide an idea of the extent of surrounding country commanded from the top of the earthworks. The photo was taken as part of Project No. 5, Trailside Clearing Fire Prevention. The photo was the frontispiece of the monthly progress report for Fort Hill State Park, August 1934. View on Ohio Memory.
