: Engraved portrait of Thomas H. White who was president of the White Sewing Machine Company located in Cleveland, Ohio, ca. 1875-1900. In 1858 White began manufacturing sewing machines in Templeton, Massachusetts. He relocated the company to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1866. It was incorporated as the White Sewing Machine Corporation in 1876. The company grew during the twentieth century and continues to manufacture sewing machines today. View on Ohio Memory.
