Description: Construction for the final blast furnace, furnace "D," at the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company's Campbell Works, was begun June 11, 1912. The furnace was blown in, or activated, on September 8, 1913. Several photographs document the construction of this furnace. This ca. 1913 photograph shows the construction of the stoves that would be used to create the hot air-blasts for the iron smelting process inside furnace "D." View on Ohio Memory.
