Description: Bookplate of Charles E. Frohman (1901-1976). The rectangular bookplate (printed in color) includes drawings of a gunpowder horn, musket, and posters (Sandusky locomotive, Walk-in-the-Water steamboat, a theater broadside, and other objects. A local historian from Sandusky, Ohio, Frohman wrote several books on Sandusky, Lake Erie, Cedar Point and other northern Ohio destinations that are in the collections of the Ohio Historical Society's Archives/Library. Frohman also collected more than 14,000 historic photographs documenting Lake Erie's Western Basin, its shoreline communities, and the Erie Islands. The collection is now housed at the Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont, Ohio. Frohman was a graduate of Yale Law School. He was a trustee of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and the Ohio Historical Society. View on Ohio Memory.
