Description: Front cover of Cottage Rose Garden catalog, 1895. A colorful floral arrangement (lavender, pink, yellow, violet) graces the cover of this catalog from Cottage Rose Garden, a florist and nursery business located in Columbus, Ohio. The name "G. Drobish" is listed on the cover; presumably he was the business owner. Cottage Rose Garden, located at 1265 South High Street, primarily sold roses and other garden flowering plants. "American Gardening: An Illustrated Journal of Horticulture" (vol. 16, no. 32, 9 Feb. 1885, p. 52) describes the cover illustration as follows: "The front has Roses, Torrenia, Show Pelagoniums, Ixora, etc., and the back an illustration of the Otaheite Orange." (This latter plant was a specialty of the Cottage Rose Garden.) The company was in business at least until 1930, when its manager was H.W. Kropp. View on Ohio Memory.
