Description: The old Somerset Courthouse, in Somerset, is built in the federal style. It was one of 5 courthouses ever used in Perry County. Although it is no longer the county court house, it is used as the meeting place for the Village Council and the Mayor's Court. The building was built in 1918 when Perry County was formed from parts of Fairfield, Muskingum and Washington Counties. The inscription above the door reads: "Let Justice be Done. If the Heavens should fall." The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 5, 1975. View on Ohio Memory.
