Description: James Coleman, of Scioto County, electrocuted July 5, 1928, for the murder of Policeman Paul Frederick at Portsmouth, Ohio. He was a black male, eighteen years old and his occupation was listed as a thief. Paul Frederick was killed by two men, one of whom he had arrested earlier for illegally transporting whiskey in East Portsmouth. Both men were arrested and executed. View on Ohio Memory.
