On October 2, 1850, the very first Ohio State Fair was held at Camp Washington in Cincinnati. The fair then moved to several cities throughout the state, including Columbus, Cleveland, Dayton, Newark, Sandusky, Zanesville, Springfield, Toledo, and Mansfield. The Ohio State Fair became permanently established in 1886 on its present site in Columbus, on an original tract of 115 acres. View on Ohio Memory.
