120th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Collection
Description: Photograph showing Company H of the 120th Regiment of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry (O.V.I.), titled "Marching by Plattoon." Handwriting on the back of the photograph indicates that it was taken in Plaquemine, Louisiana, in November of 1863. Organized in Mansfield, Ohio, the 120th O.V.I. was mustered into service on August 29, 1862. They were active until November 25, 1864, when the regiment was consolidated with the 114th O.V.I., and saw action at the Siege of Vicksburg and Siege of Jackson, among other battles.
