Description: Mounted photograph depicting Major General Alexander McDowell McCook and his staff in the field during the Civil War. McCook, one of "The Fighting McCooks" from Carrollton, Ohio, is seated in the center and flanked by officers on both sides. A soldier standing behind the seated officers is holding the flag of the 20th Army Corps. There is no photographer's mark on the mount. A caption written in pencil below the image states "Maj Gen McCook & Staff 1863." The photograph was likely taken in Tennessee when McCook was commanding the 20th Corps during the Tennessee Campaign.
