On March 3, 1962, the parade celebrated the homecoming of astronaut John Glenn after his successful Friendship 7 flight earlier that year, making him the first American in orbit. The John and Annie Glenn collection is comprised of photographs, slides, books and ephemera documenting the career of John Glenn as an astronaut and U.S. Senator.
