Description: Neil Armstrong constructed this airplane model while he was a student at Purdue University. Born in Wapakoneta, Ohio in 1930, Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon in 1969. From his early childhood, Armstrong was interested in flight. He took his first airplane ride in a Ford Tri-Motor over Warren, Ohio when he was just six years old and earned his pilot's license when he turned 16.
