Description: Three photographs document the grounds of the Governor's Residence in Bexley, Ohio. Architect Robert Gilmore Hanford designed the Jacobean Revival home for Malcolm D. Jeffrey, son of Columbus industrialist Joseph A. Jeffrey in 1923. The home was donated to the State of Ohio by the heirs of Florence Jeffrey Carlile, a sister of Malcolm, in 1955 for use as the Governor's mansion. Governor C. William O'Neill became the first governor to live in the home in 1957. The first governor's residence was at 1234 East Broad Street in Columbus. The Bexley home continues to serve as the Governor's Residence into the 21st century. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The photographs measure 5" x 4" (12.7 x 10.16 cm).
